SUMMARY:COMA's 46th Clark Rogerson Foray
DESCRIPTION:Registration for COMA’s 46th Clark Rogerson Foray (9/4/26 to 9/7/26) is now OPEN.  \nThe comfortable overnight accommodations at this location – Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp\, Copake\, NY – are similar to those of a motel\, and all guest rooms have their own private bathroom & shower. The home-cooked meals (the camp can accommodate most special diets)\, and all-day access to the heated pool make this facility unique. There will be a limited number of single-person rooms available\, and these will be assigned on a “first come\, first served” basis. (Please see the registration link for details.) There will also be a few rooms that can sleep 3 or even 4 people in “family-style” lodging. (We are pleased to pass along a discount that the camp offers for children 12 and under.) Please let us know if you are interested in family rooms and/or the children’s rates. (twightcoma@gmail.com) We will have an outstanding roster of invited mycologists and expert identifiers on hand\, and foraging on the 460-acre premises and the surround parks is reliably excellent.  \nThere will be scheduled outings to designated parks on Saturday & Sunday\, and the event features both afternoon and evening programs or workshops\, with “social hours” (snacks\, drinks\, music) starting at 9 PM each night. You may register for the “full” foray\, 3 days\, 2 days\, or even a single day. The Clark Rogerson Foray is well known throughout the region\, not only as a great learning experience\, but it’s also such wonderful fun that we’ve been doing it for the past 46 years! SUMMARY:Alberta Mycological Society GAMF
DESCRIPTION:The Alberta Mycological Society is excited to host its 2026 Great Alberta Mushroom Foray (GAMF) in the Town of Sundre\, Alberta\, from September 4 to September 7. This flagship event brings together fungi enthusiasts for a long weekend of exploration\, education\, and citizen science amid the diverse ecosystems of central Alberta’s foothills and forests. \nPresenters include David Arora\, Paul Kroeger\, Tyson Ehlers\, Michael Schulz\, Martin Osis. \nTen tickets remain to be sold as of 2026 August 24. \nAfter successful forays in northern locations like Cold Lake and Fox Creek\, the GAMF moves south in 2026 to Sundre\, nestled in Mountain View County. Participants will explore the rich macrofungi of the surrounding landscapes\, extending west toward the stunning Ya Ha Tinda Ranch—Canada’s only federally operated horse ranch—on the edge of Banff National Park. This transition zone between prairie\, foothill\, and montane environments offers a unique variety of habitats for foraging\, identifying\, and learning about Alberta’s fungal biodiversity. \nAttendees will join guided forays\, workshops\, and presentations\, deepening their understanding of fungi’s vital roles in ecosystems while contributing to the AMS’s mission of studying and promoting fungal diversity. The event fosters community among mycophiles and supports ongoing efforts to document and appreciate Alberta’s remarkable mycoflora in this scenic and ecologically varied region.
