We hope your mycocalendars are already marked for the North American Mycological Association (NAMA) 2026 Regional Foray, officially named Similkameen Valley Foray & Feast, produced in partnership with Vancouver Mycological Society (VMS) and set for June 1 to 4, 2026 at Manning Park Resort in British Columbia, Canada.

This contest is a call to artists everywhere to harness your inspiration and create an evocative, eye-catching logo to celebrate what is sure to be a seminal international mycological happening!

Logo Contest Rules:

This logo contest is open to anyone in the world! You need not be a NAMA member to enter.
Entries should contain the official name of the event, which is Similkameen Valley Foray & Feast.
Entries may (but are not required to) incorporate the official NAMA logo. If the official NAMA logo is incorporated into a design, its colors and/or size may be altered but no other substantive design changes to the official NAMA logo are permitted. Each contestant may submit up to five (5) separate entries.
Submitted artwork must meet certain requirements for printing; please see guidelines below.
Any fungal species represented in artwork should represent that artist’s interpretation of distinctly recognizable, actual fungal species known to occur in springtime in the area the event takes place; burn morels and other fire-dependent species come first to mind.

Submission and Selection Dates:

Contest entries must be received no later than midnight October 31, 2025. The selected design will be announced by November 15, 2025.

Prizes:

The artist behind the winning design will receive the following:

One ticket to attend Similkameen Valley Foray & Feast! This ticket will have the value of a double-occupancy ticket and include accommodations and meals for one attendee (please note that travel costs are not included in this award).
One-year membership in NAMA (or a one-year extension of membership if they are already a member).
A feature in NAMA’s quarterly publication, The Mycophile Quarterly.
A copy of each item that is printed with the logo, expected to include a t-shirt, sticker and any other swag that may be created for the event.

Requirements for Graphic Artwork:

All designs must consist of vector art that has been optimized for screen printing; the design cannot contain any gradient colors or gradient translucency – solid colors only, please!
To keep within our production budget, the design must be limited to 1 or 2 colors (up to 3 colors may be achieved by incorporating the background shirt color into the design). Please note that although artists are welcome to recommend specific t-shirt colors, shirt-color selection is ultimately up to event organizers.
Submitted art must be in the form of vector files such as AI or EPS.
Any fonts used in the design must be free for commercial use.

Design Selection and Rights of Use:

The selected design will be chosen by representatives from VMS and from NAMA’s Visual Arts, Foray and Marketing committees who may, at their discretion, alter graphic elements, font or verbiage on the chosen design.

The selected design becomes the intellectual property of NAMA, in perpetuity, for exclusive commercial use in marketing, merchandising and in any other way the organization deems appropriate.
