Volunteer Identification Consultants
This is a free service offered by NAMA. Listed below are telephone numbers of persons who have volunteered to assist in the identification of mushrooms in poisoning cases. In case of a suspected mushroom poisoning immediately contact your doctor or local poison center. NAMA identification consults are available to help with mushroom identification if a mushroom poisoning is suspected.
You may also contact the chair of the NAMA Toxicology Committee by email.
Please help document mushroom poisonings by submitting an online report to the NAMA Poison Case Registry. For non-emergency identification, contact a nearby mushroom club, nature center, museum or the botany department in a local college or university. Note: phone numbers are either home, office or cell; for email addresses, substitute @ for space [at] space.
