UPDATE: At this point we have a full list of volunteers for the NAMA Yoop Foray and are not taking new applicants. Thank you for your support!

Our annual forays depend on a team of dedicated volunteers who help things run smoothly. As we prepare for this year’s meeting, we will be accepting applications from NAMA members, in exchange for a discounted registration fee.

Most of our volunteers will be members of NAMA Yoop’s local host clubs, though a limited number of spots may be available to non-local NAMA members if space allows. If you are interested in joining us as a volunteer at our next annual foray, please complete the form below:

Volunteer Terms and Conditions

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with NAMA! If you would like to apply for a position, please review and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Minimum Commitment & Compensation

We’re looking for volunteers who can commit to working 8 hours total during the event, usually split into 2–3 shifts. Selected volunteers will receive a $200 discount at event registration.

Responsibilities

Volunteers will work under team leaders in areas such as registration, presentations, forays, technical support, setup/teardown, and culinary support. Assignments will be based on applicants’ availability, qualifications and interests.

Shift Assignments

Volunteers will be assigned one or more shifts prior to the event. They are required to attend a brief online orientation with their team leader(s) prior to the event. While we strive to accommodate preferences where possible, we cannot guarantee specific shift times, responsibilities or departmental assignments.

Attendance and Punctuality

Volunteers commit to being present and on-time for the entirety of each of their assigned shifts. If they find that they are unable to attend the event or work any of their assigned shifts, they must notify contact the volunteer coordinator two weeks in advance of the event date.

During the event, those who are unable to attend a scheduled shift must notify the volunteer coordinator at least 24 hours in advance. Any absences or tardiness may result in dismissal from the volunteer program.

NAMA Membership

Conduct

Volunteers should be comfortable following the instructions of team leaders and working collaboratively with other members. They are expected to behave professionally and respectfully at all times, representing the organization in a positive manner.

Safety and Compliance

Volunteers must comply with all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures provided by the organization.

Termination

The organization reserves the right to terminate a volunteer’s participation at any time for failure to comply with these terms.

Volunteers who do not attend their assigned shifts, without prior notice or approval, may be required to reimburse NAMA for the value of any discounts or benefits received.
